When you look at a deck of poker cards you may notice that the Jack of Spades and the Jack of Hearts are in profile, we only see one eye on each of them. In parlour poker the dealer will often called out “One Eyed Jacks” before players choose to ante for the game. In One Eyed Jack Video Poker from The Art of Games both of these cards are wild – either or both can substitute for any other card to help form a winning hand. The maths are different with 2 wild cards so a strategy that takes this into account is needed to excel at this game. Also, because the lowest ranking hand on the pay table is Two Pair your hold choices will be quite different than they would be with Jacks or Better.
