WGS Technology (Wager Gaming) is located in St. John's, Antigua West Indies and is the re-branded software formerly known as Vegas Technologies (and as Odds On software previous to that). Very little is known for certain about the ownership or management of the company, nor about their gaming license. The first casino to license the new software brand was Liberty Slots Casino and its games are audited for fairness of play by independent third party gaming expert, Dr. Eliot Jacobson, Ph.D. The games will be the same anywhere they are played, so we might assume that the Certified Fair Gaming™ seal applies to the software and all casinos providing Wager Gaming casino games online. The first casino was launched only a few months ago so further information is sure be made available in the near future.

Wager Gaming Software

Games are delivered via a free standing download casino client for PC or over players' web browsers to be played using any computer operating system. Mac and Linux users as wells PC OS can play the Flash based games without installing software on their computers. Banking and game histories are readily available as are several suites of games including separate sections to access featured games, slots games, table games, video poker, specialty games and tournaments. The games have always been well liked by players regardless of the current name of the software.

There is confusion over the origin of many of the slot games with some reviewers attributing them solely to Odds On or Vegas Technologies, and now Wager Gaming. The work of NextGen Gaming and Genesis Gaming are impossible to miss as the most likely outside developers of many of the games. Game dynamics and graphics as well as pay table elements strongly suggest that Grail Maiden was created in the Genesis Gaming labs. In this reviewer's opinion a large number of other games were created by NextGen Gaming laboratories as can be easily confirmed by their existence in a 20 payline format, rather than the Vegas Tech 25-lines, and branded as Cryptologic games at European facing casinos.

Wager Gaming Security

In all the years of the software being in service (1998-2003 as Odds On, 2003-2011 as Vegas Technologies, 2012- as Wager Gaming) there has never been a reported breach of player security. See the History of the software. In keeping with industry standards, the casinos operating the software process all data between casino and consumer as encrypted data. Financial transactions are fully protected using 128-bit encryption on Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 3.0. Security software validates all transactions and all information is highly secure.

Our Conclusion on WGS Technology (Wager Gaming)

We waited several months to review this gaming software, long enough to offer a recommendation based on certain knowledge and the information contained in this review. There is nothing to indicate that the code and security features of this re-branding are any different to the original software; it seems to have simply risen from the ashes after closing shop following the April 13, 2011 Black Friday financial raids. It is entirely plausible that the owners of the current software are keeping available details to an absolute minimum for their own personal security and the protection of their interests.

In nearly a year of gaming there have been no complaints about the fairness of the games and Certified Fair Gaming has applied their seal to the first casino offering Wager Gaming bets. The early October, 2012 announcement that highly respected Deck Media is opening a WGS Technology powered casino, Miami Club Casino, adds another layer of confidence to our conclusion. Players will find sorely need ed variety in the games offered and it should be business as usual. US players, especially, will find Wager Gaming casinos a welcome addition to their playing venues.

Wager Gaming History

We did not have a lot of time to write this history article, but here is our previous article on OddsOn Gaming (the first incarnation of what is now, Wager Technology)

During 1998 the Internet found a rise in e-cash processing online gambling companies, Odds On Gaming Inc. Saw this need, and had the ability to offer a solution for the nets gaming e-cash clients.

In answer, the new company was developed, the original Odds On software was developed using a downloadable Java format, which was later replaced by the Odds On downloadable C++ format.

Odds On merges with EH New Ventures Gaming

Up until the year 2003 Odds On operated a profitable gaming franchise business. During this year Odds On entered into an arrangement with EH New Ventures Gaming Inc. Which at the time was an Odds On Gaming licensee.

Since this time EH New Ventures Gaming Inc. Has been in charge of the franchising system in addition to all new Odds On software developments.
