Red Dog Progressiveby The Art of Games
We were not able to see the “progressive” element of this game from The Art of Games. Perhaps it refers to the fact that you can check or raise (2x ante) but that is no different than any other Red Dog game we have seen. Regardless, this game is easy to play and has more of an element of luck than skill. Simply place a bet to receive two cards. Depending on the “spread” or number of cards between the two you may win a multiple of your bet. If the first two cards are consecutive (J/Q, 2/3 for example) or if the cards are tied, the game is a push and you receive your Ante back. If they are tied, simply sit back and wait for a third card to be drawn. If it makes three of a kind your bet is paid out 11:1.
We were unable to determine the number of decks used in this game, however we will mention that games with more decks actually favor the player as your chance of drawing the 3 of a kind hand increase. Regardless of the number of decks used players can beat this game in the long run by only ever betting on spreads of 7 or more cards.
