The super Bet is the main, new addition to this slot. If you look on the right side of the reels, you will see a sword in a stone that reads “Super Bet”. Once you click on the sword, you will see it rise out of the stone and display the 5 levels of the super bet.

The Super Bet will add Wild Re Spins to the reels. The first level will add 1 wild re spins when an entire reel is turned wild. The 2nd level adds 2, the 3rd 3, the 4th 4 and the 5th 5 wild re spins. Each level will also cost additional coins. This is where the cost per spin can get pretty high.

The 1st level requires 50 coins.
2nd level requires 100 coins
3rd level requires 200 coins
4th level requires 250 coins
5th level requires 300 additional coins

The additional coins are at the same value as your line bet for the normal game. So, if you are betting $0.04 per line, you would need to wager additional coins at the same value for the Super Bet.

Merlin’s Magic Symbols

Standard 10 through Ace symbols will be the most common and lower paying symbols with 3 or more needed to make a win. Other symbols include a letter, telescope, magic potion book, and a magic cup. The symbols look great and blend well with the theme.

The wild symbol is Merlin the Magician. This is a stacked symbol that shows up in groups. He does appear even if you aren’t playing the Super Bet, but it won’t trigger the wild re spin feature. It also only appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 except during re spins where it shows up on all reels.

The cauldron is the scatter and will trigger the free spin game when 3 or more land on the reels. This symbol only appears on reels 2, 3, and 4.

Free Spins

Seven free spins are won when 3 or more cauldrons land anywhere on the reels. During free spins, Merlin will start to turn symbols into wilds. He can trigger entire stacks to become wild which will activate the wild re spins if you are playing the Super Bet. This means re spins can be won during the free spins as well.

Final Thoughts

Merlin’s Magic with re spins has me torn. I love its features and the overall look of the game. The wild re spins are very exciting and the animation is great when it occurs. But, I do wish they made it less expensive to play. This is definitely not a slot for those looking to play casually.

The larger bankroll requirement does alienate certain players. You can still play on the cheap without using the Super Bet, but you lose the best feature of the game.

Having said this, Merlin’s Magic wasn’t meant to be a cheap slot that you can play for pennies. It was created to provide a chance at some major wins for those who appreciate higher betting limits and the value that comes along with them.
