Advantages for the player include doubling on any two cards, doubling after a split, being able to split 3 times to make 4 hands and the ability to split unlike 10 cards such as a Jack and King. Your split Aces will only receive one card each and of course 21 on a split hand is not a Blackjack, but 21.
