Spanish Blackjack gets its name from the kind of deck used, the Spanish deck. A Spanish deck of cards is a standard 52 card deck with all the 10's removed making the deck 48 cards. Spanish Blackjack is dealt from an 8 deck shoe of Spanish Decks that is shuffled after each round. Late Surrender (surrender after doubling) is allowed. This is sometimes referred to as a forfeit or double-down rescue. In this case the dealer takes the double portion of your wager and you retain your original bet.
