American Roulette is a fun game to play but it gives the house an unnecessary advantage in that it has one more 0 (the 00 space) than it's European counterpart. Playing Roulette in its simplest form (betting red or black, odd or even) is a lot like flipping a coin – heads or tails, but one out of 37 times (two out of 38 times with American Roulette) the 'coin' will land on its edge and you will lose. This is the House advantage and it is built into every spin of the wheel even if you bet on the 0 or 00. American Roulette is a little more simple to learn, and it can be fun to bet on both zeros and every number that touches them by splitting your bets.

When betting red or black, odd or even, you have an almost 50/50 chance in either version - many people enjoy the simpler betting options of this 1800's version of a 1600's game invented by the mathematician, Blaise Pascal.
